Job Title : Accounts Assistant
Hours of Work: 9 – 5
Department: Accounts / Administration
Accountable to: Finance Director

Role Summary:
  • Provide administrative support to the accounts department, undertaking clerical tasks such as typing, filing, making phone calls, handling mail and basic book keeping. As well as helping the Finance Director and dealing with customers and external agencies

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Daily postings of the company bank accounts and monthly reconciliations
  • Anticipated receipts management
  • Regular sales invoicing including rent invoices and storage invoices
  • Posting monthly journals
  • Ensure the smooth running of the accounts system, monitor and improve where necessary
  • Provide cover for weekly sub-contractor’s payment along with any other payments due
  • Timesheet costings
  • Updating and recording holidays
  • Sub-contractor purchase ledger, journals and CIS project costing entries
  • Supplier invoice posting
  • Weekly petty cash entries
  • Raise purchase orders
  • Matching of purchase order numbers and delivery notes to supplier invoices
  • Updating current jobs
  • Credit control
  • General administrative duties
  • Answering of telephone
