The Brief

Jones Interiors are a privately owned family business started back in 1909.  They are proud of their wonderfully inspired collections of fabrics, tiebacks, trimmings, and curtain poles to suit contemporary and traditional settings. Supplying very high-quality products to thousands of retailers, wholesalers, and interior designers in the UK and abroad. During our first meeting with the client, we seized upon a current marketing strapline that the client was using in regard to customised paint finishes to their curtain poles…..”in your colour. Any colour”. We decided to use this as the campaign focus for the stand and developed a crowd-stopping visitor attractor to act as a hook and central feature…with so many relatively small products to display, we needed that big statement…

The Deliverables

The primary focus of the design was to ensure both sides of the stand addressed visitors approaching from the 3 aisles. This allowed the main back display walls to be visible and the main focal point when attracting visitors onto the stand space. The stand was painted grey to emphasise the brand colours, whilst brass features, displays, and logos around the stand supported the quality aspect and the company’s professional image while offering a refreshing new colour palette for Jones Interiors to use. The whole design subtly referenced the heritage of the company through graphic imagery and voile prints to retain the stand’s open feel. Product was very much the focus of this stand, but the central podium was the focus for client meetings, viewing samples, and engaging with the technology and data capture.

The Experience

Developing the “in your colour, any colour” theme, we manufactured a huge model of a curtain pole finial.  This was manufactured with a cleverly designed, exploded 3-dimensional feature and packed with LED lighting. The technology behind this display allowed stand visitors to use an iPad to cycle through a spectrum of colours and be able to see the ambient Finial change colour before their eyes. The use of light created an eye-catching feature and accompanied by staggered display cubes illuminated and painted in various colours creates an ideal display for the products, whilst also drawing the attention of passers-by and allowing them to imagine Jones Interiors products in their chosen environment.

Our Response

This stand was a leap forward for our client with a bigger space and consequently, a bigger investment than ever made in previous events.  Our consultation at the briefing stage revealed that more than anything, this was to be an exercise in elevating and creating a greater awareness of the Jones name.  Whilst very much respected as an established manufacturer, this was the dawning of a new era for the company with a new website, social media content, and a new factory, that has just been completed.  The stand delivered all of that and more; it was busy throughout the show and lots of new leads were recorded via the iPad app to follow up and we very much look forward to the next one!
