Envisage worked directly with Streatham School and their design team on this interior project. The school wanted their library refurbed and giving an upgrade for their students to enjoy and make the most of, creating a welcoming environment students would want to come and spend their quiet and study time.
For the new library, Envisage produced, Nook seating, a Librarian station, Resource station, Student workstations and upgrades to the existing shelving, giving it a revamp and a new lease of life. The seating and displays were finished in an Oak veneer with statement curved features with soft cushion seating were a bold statement in the library, sparking creativity and inspiration to what can be quite a serious environment for studying students.
Being within a school environment it was important for the works to be carried out when the school was closed to avoid disrupting the flow of the day to day running and students study time. With this in mind, the majority of the construction was done at our head quarters and taken down to site to be installed as quickly as possible.
We worked closely with Streatham school and their designers to develop the concepts, including choosing materials, Layout of the space, textures and finishes. The result was a bright and inviting space for students and staff alike with soft seating and quiet spaces for group and lone study and reading. The high quality finish and quirky design to the seating and displays really enhanced the look and feel of the space.
“The team transformed the Library for us, we are over the moon with it and so are the students!” - Streatham & Clapham School
